BRONCO RECALL LIST

As with every new model vehicle by every manufacturer, things bound to go sideways. This will be the complete list of all the KNOWN Bronco Recalls to date. It will be updated accordingly. Everything you will need to know will be provided for you within the page.

It should also be noted, parts for a lot of car manufacturers are still on back order. This will delay repairs. Please be nice to the service department, for they do not deserve to be screamed at, cursed at, or disrespected because parts aren't coming in. They can't do anything about it.

1) AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Ford is recalling an undisclosed number of Broncos, as well as: Mustangs, Explorers, 2023 Aviators, & F150s. Broncos, Mustangs, Explorers, & F150 model years are 2022-2023; all of which are subject to the Automatic Transmission Recall.

The transmission may not fully engaged when shifted into PARK due to a loose bolt. The indicator will still show the vehicle in PARK, when in fact it is not. Please make sure to check your VIN with the sites listed below.

Having a vehicle not shifted in PARK can pose a danger to not only your vehicle, but to other vehicles, and to other's safety as well. A vehicle affected by this, can possibly become a rollaway vehicle.

If your vehicle is affected by this recall, go to the dealership ASAP. They will do a full inspection and follow Ford's warranty procedures. Also, ask the dealership for a loaner, or a rental. Warranty work is always free to the customer.

2) SIDE IMPACT AIR BAGS

Ford is recalling an undisclosed number of 2021 & 2022 model year Broncos for Side Air Bags. According to the source (listed below) it states the right OR left side air bag impact sensors may not be properly secured to the vehicle.

An improperly secured impact sensor can potentially cause the side air bags to deploy. This could be a dangerous situation should air bags deploy while the owner of the affected vehicle is driving.

If your vehicle is affected by this recall, go to the dealership ASAP. They will do a full inspection and follow Ford's warranty procedures. Make sure to inquire about a loaner or a rental vehicle. All warranty work by Ford is free to the customer.

The image displayed on the rear view camera may still be displayed on the monitor after the backing up procedure is completed. Ford is concerned the image showing on the screen may distract the driver and could cause an accident.

5) CHILD SAFETY LOCKS

Ford is recalling an undisclosed number of model year 2021-2022 4-Door Broncos, for child safety locks on both rear passenger doors.

If the child safety lock was in the "ON" position in an effected vehicle, the rear doors could still open from the inside, which is the EXACT opposite of what they are supposed to do. They are meant to keep the rear doors FROM opening up.

We had 2 of our own Broncos affected by this recall. Each dealership is different in how fast recalls are handled. Please keep that in consideration.

6)FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM

Ford is recalling an undisclosed number of 2021 Broncos & Rangers, because the module for the adaptive cruise control radar (ACCR - as I am going to call it here) could have possibly been misaligned during the production.

The job of the adaptive cruise control radar module is to make the vehicle maintains a consistent safe distance between two vehicles.

Another system could be affected by the adaptive cruise control radar, and this system is called the Automatic Emergency Braking System (AEB). What it does is apply the brakes first (on it's own) to warn the driver an accident is attempted to be avoided. This action will prompt the driver to put their own foot on the brakes. This is called the pre-collision assist braking.

With the ACCR module being misaligned, it could affect the AEB by causing it to react slower than normal, thus could possibly cause an accident because the driver would be prompted to put their foot on the brakes later rather than sooner, or in a worst case scenario - the driver won't react at all to the situation.

If your vehicle is affected by this recall, go to the dealership ASAP. They will do a full inspection and follow Ford's warranty procedures.
